ARB Code of Conduct

As a firm, we aim to:

• We as a firm act with honesty and we act with integrity to avoid any actions or situations which are inconsistent with our professional obligations

• Manage our firm competently, doing the work we do sustainable, environmental and cost-effective

• Prompt our services honestly and responsibly

• Carry out work faithfully and conscientiously

• We are trustworthy, and we look after our clients with the best we an allowing them to have a stress-free experience with the work we do as well as we are trustworthy with the clients’ money giving them the best for what they want from their budget

• We have appropriate insurance arrangements

• We maintain the reputation of architects and every member of the firm

• Deal with disputes or complaints appropriately, if there is a conflict of interest which arises, we disclose it in writing and manage it to the satisfaction of all parties

• Co-operate with regulatory requirements and investigations

• We have respect for others

Competent management of our business:

• We aim to have efficient systems in place to ensure the practice runs professionally and that projects are monitored and reviewed regularly

- We test on the systems, machines and equipment regularly

• We ensure that we can provide adequate professional, financial, and technical resources when entering into a contract and throughout its duration. We also have suitably qualified and supervised staff to provide an effective and efficient service to clients.

- We discuss the job/fee letter with the clients and take them through our firm, management team, and coordinates

- Admin required for all drawing aspects

- Architect instructions given

- Planning permission

 

• We ensure we follow all data protection legislation and take full account of data protection legislation. To ensure this, we make sure there is adequate security in place to safeguard both paper and electronic records for our clients and make sure confidential information from clients is protected.

• Before we start work with the client, we ensure that we undertake any professional work as stated:

- Before we carry out any work, we have a contract set out such as a fee and written agreement. We know the job has a fee agreement if someone says they need a job, and then we ensure we look in a job file. Therefore, all our fee letters are recorded and placed safely where all can be accessed and read.

- Scope of work we set: Meet with clients, work out what they need, provide them with the best option of what we can provide, using a AR Drone we accurately measure the apace they need work doing on, professional CAD experts create plans and designers create ideas a designs for the client, then discuss and show the clients the plans and confirm costs of the project, then we get planning permissions and then invoice everything we do.

- We make sure clients know our project planning and we take in consideration the workload we have and what work we have to do within the future and make sure we have a sufficient workforce to cover labour and then decide when is best to start work for new clients

Considering the broader impact of work:

We ensure clients know which the best way is to take this project on, allowing it to remain environmental, sufficient to enhance the quality of natural resources.

• As a business, we have to make sure there is an appointment recording system as all client and member meetings must be clear, agreed and recorded in writing before the commencement of any professional services

ISAAC MOODY: This is some good initial research into the ARB code of conduct but Ithink we need to know tailor to fit into the business plan strategies.
