RENOVATION

The brief for this project focuses in the field of 'Renovation'. Set out by the Harvey Hadden Sports Association, the overall aim was to develop the preexisting athletics clubhouse. The pre-existing club house lacked any sense of cohesion of space, character and relevance to the current events and functions that inhabit the space.

The form for our design follows the natural smooth curve of the racing track that is resembled in the composition of the plan. The inspiration of the building is the site; anywhere you are in the building, you get connections to the site. The concept of site is not only one of our main focuses as a collective, but it is also a main strategy for our designs. Site typology and history is extremely important in the development of our designs as a company as we believe in preserving existing culture- however redefining this with our modern technology.

Through the natural curve by the site, ADAPT Studio. have created a central vast open space in front of the clubhouse overlooking the running track. The facade of this building was where we tested our 3D printing process, and it proved successful in using the existing grid to transform the old look of the clubhouse.
